Usualx is a vault that is constantly receiving USUAL. When you own USUALx, you own a certain percentage of this vault. Lets say you own 1% of the vault and the vault has 100 usual in it. You would own 1 underlying USUAL. If tomorrow the vault had 110 usual, your Usualx would now have 1.1 USUAL. That's why USUALx is getting more and more valuable compared to USUAL over time. As @Dave.race chart shows, it isn't perfectly linear because USUALx trades on secondary market so there is some volatility from people selling a lot all at once.Dave.race

When USUALx unstaked, they take some of the usual out of the vault so you end up with a larger share of a smaller vault.
When usual gets staked though, the new person is putting their usual in. So you end up with a smaller share of a larger pie.

Usualx represents how much of the vault you own. If more usual gets staked, you own a smaller share of the vault. If USUALx gets unstaked, you own a bigger share of the vault. In addition, whoever unstaked gave up 10% of their usual and 33% of that goes to everyone else in the vault.

The base scale factor allows the DAO to modify the daily minting of USUAL to either reduce or increase the USUAL emission rate over time. I don't understand what you mean.
Maybe I wasn't clear. USUALx is a yield-bearing asset, this is why it's price with regards to USUAL is ~an exponential curve (with dips whenever someone sells, since you pay a 10% fee if you redeem directly through the dapp)

The price difference between USUAL and USUALx is due to USUALx acting like a vault-share, which is proportional to your share of the rewards. When you unstake USUALx, it is converted back to USUAL, and there is a 10% fee on the amount unstaked. This fee is redistributed to those who continue staking and part of it is burned to increase scarcity.

USUALx IS staked USUAL. If you look at the price with regards to USUAL, it does fluctuate, but this is because there is a 10% fee when you unstake. You can sell (or buy) on DEXes, it actually rarely (never?) traded at the 10% discount, but it is possible. It traded at various discounts between 0% and 10% historically.

When you stake USUAL into USUALx, it acts like a vault share. This means your rewards accrue and autocompound, and you can see them when trying to unstake. They do not show up under the classic 'Pending Rewards'. To view your rewards, simulate an unstake: the withdrawal amount will include your rewards (minus a 10% unstaking fee). Essentially, your vault share increases in worth over time, allowing you to withdraw more than you initially deposited.
